The Forum for Democracy reacts after Meksi's resignation After becoming acquainted with the proposal of the chairman of the Democratic Party and President of the Republic Sali Berisha for the resignation of the Meksi government and the appointment of another government with the same composition, the Forum for Democracy declares: To get out of this serious political crisis caused by the perverse and anti-national rule of the Democratic Party and its president Sali Berisha, from the outset there has been a demand to broaden the democratic base of the new government with Albanian democratic and progressive forces. The creation of the so-called state of emergency by the Meksi government and the actions of this regime against the democratic movement, the use of the army, the police and the paramilitary forces of the Democratic Party to bleed Southern Albania, create even more mistrust in the proposed government with the same composition and the same political forces. To save the homeland from this national catastrophe and to guarantee a democratic political solution, these conditions are necessary: 1. The resignation of President Berisha. 2. A new government and a government of public salvation with a figure outside PD influence. 3. The announcement of new, fair and equal elections. The Forum declares that it will support any such government that adheres to these conditions. If the President and his political, paramilitary and criminal structures continue on their anti-national and anti-popular path, they will have to assume all responsibilities before the law and justice. The Forum declares that it will use every political and democratic route to save the country from the trap of catastrophe into which Berisha's regime has led it.
